ABSTRACT

English language acquisition in general and English speaking skills in particular have always been the central goal of English Language Education. However, it is not always easy to improve students’ speaking competences. The purpose of this action research is to help third-graders at Iris School with their speaking abilities in English 3. A total of 90 students in three classes and 2 English language teachers participated in this study. A set of pre-test, mid-test and post-test scores and interview serve as research instruments. The results showed that students were advancing in a class after taking all ways through the photovoice technique in the speaking class. Therefore, it is claimed that the photovoice technique is truly beneficial and effective for improving students’ speaking skills.
